PHOTOS: the once majestic Hotel Africa—Virginia, Liberia

The Hotel Africa and villas is a huge structure outside the Monrovia suburb of Virginia. Built in 1979, it is Liberia’s largest hotel. It was constructed by President William R. Tolbert to host the Organisation of African Unity [OAU] conference of which he was chair.
