As promised to not be used as a scapegoat into the ongoing investigation over an alleged missing US$200,000.00, which was reportedly withdrawn from the account of the Buchanan Port, Suspended Charles MacArthur Gull, said the entire money withdrew from the account was US$1.5 Million instead of US$200,000.00 initially reported.
According to Gull, National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director Bill Tweahway ordered the withdrawal of a total of US$1.5 million under the title special order. In a rather short dispatch from the United States, Gull indicated that the NPA Managing Director who his Boss personally withdrew the US$1.5 Million under the title special order and made away with the money without any written communication from the port of Buchanan Account Department.
Gull disclosed that his secret departure from the Country was due to several threats received from his former boss, backed by some criminal gangs who have allegedly threatened him that if he made any attempt to expose MD Tweahway in the testimony to the LACC, his life will be shortened by all means.
He promised to release additional information about those call big hands.
Immediately following his escape from the Country, Gull threatened to publicly expose those he called “Big Hands” in President Weah CDC-led administration who are involved in the alleged corruption allegation linking him and his deputy. It is widely reported on social media that Gull has escaped the Country following a mandate from the Court that state security should prevent him and others who have been accused of alleged corruption from leaving the country pending the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission investigation.
But Gull on his official social media page posted over the weekend disclosed that he will provide information concerning the entire episode regarding the alleged corruption at the Buchanan Port linking him and others.
Gull, who allegedly stole US$200,000.00 from the coffee of the Buchanan Port, was along with the Chief Statistician, Amara Kamara suspended by the Government of Liberia through NPA on Friday, July 16, 2021, for their alleged involvement in diverting monies intended for the Government of Liberia into their personal accounts.
“It’s about time I speak and make clear about the entire allegation. I had no option than accepting under duress, fear of death, being in imminent danger” Gull noted. According to him, he has all of the relevant documents and communication in his possession regardless of the NPA officials looking his office.
Gull states that “locking my office not to get hold of any document was a failed attempt because every document I deemed essential, was kept on my I could and it will be published to the press and the Liberian people”.
“I’m safe now, I can talk, if it wasn’t about my integrity, I would have kept quiet” he emphasized.
However, Gull apologized to friends that his clarity will expose but indicated that it’s about his name being rubbed in the dirt while the real culprits are the big guns.
