SUP Declares LACC’S Nubusi Nwabudike Persona Non-Grata, Calls for his Immediate Dismissal

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUP declares Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission Executive Chairperson (LACC Boss) Cllr. Nubusi Nwabudike a Persona non-grata, calls for his immediate dismissal from the LACC amidst identity crisis, refutes President Weah SONA statistics of increase in enrollment at UL; demands all Lawmakers and Public Officials to Declare their Assets in accordance with the 2014 Code of Conduct, recalls Co-Chairman for Party’s Affairs Cde. Seawon S. Laiwayee and others

Comrades and compeers, crusaders for social justice, academic freedom and peace, proponents  of Massacracy, militants and courageous soldiers, conscious university students, peerless and fearless campaigners for popular power and genuine democracy, sons and daughters of the suppressed and oppressed masses of our people, fighting cadres of Africa’s bulwark of true consciousness, dialectical teachings and political enlightenment, the undefeatable ruling Vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP), members of the fourth estate, the press:

We bring you plethora of revolutionary greetings from the epicenter of the intelligentsia and the biggest barometer of true consciousness in the Republic of Liberia, the ever-potent Vanguard Student Unification party-SUP.

Comrades, after 50 years of fighting against autocrats, dictators and western imperialist elements on the home front, the Vanguard Party remains more courageous and ever-resilient in guiding the peoples’ struggle until final victory.  SUP has and will continue to advocate for social equality, justice, accountability, transparency, academic freedom, multi-party democracy, rice and rights, economic dignity and peace, unity, prosperity and social cohesion amongst the Liberian People.

SUP calls for the immediate, expeditious and unconditional dismissal of the fraudster, imposter and simple thieve Cllr. A. Ndubusi Nwabudike who is the Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission (LACC) of the Republic of Liberia.

Fellow Liberians, as you may recall, a few months back, Cllr.  Ndubusi Nwabudike who is believed to be a Nigerian national came under severe scrutiny after he was appointed by President George Weah and later nominated to the Liberian Senate as the Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia. While before the Liberian Senate pending confirmation, the proceeding hearings revealed that Nwabudike presented many conflicting documents with different names and dates of births, along with Liberian passports, naturalization papers and other documents to prove his nationalization as a Liberian.

However, after sufficient researched and juxtapositions of existing facts from several documents and accounts from the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), and the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA), it was proven that Nwabudike had fraudulently and criminally acquired Liberian Passports and other relevant Liberian Documents which had helped him enjoyed certain basic privileges and rights guaranteed to  Liberian nationals through the constitution of the Republic of Liberia and other legal instruments and lucrative positions in Liberia such as the privilege to be a Commissioner at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission.

Fellow Liberians, after the revelations from these investigations, President George Weah was forced to withdraw the nomination of  Nwabudike as it was headed for a possible gatecrash and subsequent rejection during the Senate vote for confirmation.

Firstly, SUP believes that the actions of President Weah to have nominated a Non-Liberian and a criminal to the position as Chairman of the National Elections Commission was a gross and wanton violation of Chapter 2, section 2.3 of the New Elections Law of Liberia which prohibits Non-Liberian nationals from serving as Commissioner on the Board of Commissioners of the National Elections Commission of the Republic of Liberia. Therefore, the typical Nigerian citizen in Nuwabudike didn’t meet the eligibility and legal criteria to have even gotten appointed for such a sacred and codified position.

The party is calling on UL administration to ensure the immediate issuance of ID Cards to all students before the resumption of normal academic activities. Additionally, the ban on student political activities must be immediately lifted while urgency be given to the holding of ULSU general elections in this coming semester. As the 2019/2020 Draft National Budget is under legislative scrutiny, SUP is calling on the National Legislature to substantively increase the budget of UL and all public tertiary institutions in the country.

SUP also sees the current status of Nwabudike who continues to criminally serve as the Executive Chairperson for the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission as a sharp contradiction to the laws governing that integrity body. As an integrity institution, the Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Nwabudike occupancy continues to violate Part V (5), Section 6.2 of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission Act which categorically prohibits Non-Liberian nationals from occupying said position. Secondly, you can not have fraudster or someone like Nwabudike with a mutilated character and zero morals to serve as corruption watchdog that would be chasing after corrupt officials of government when Nwabudike himself is not free from fraud and massive corruption.

Since the citizenship of Nwabudkie came under question, reputable institutions that he criminally maneuvered his way to join took quick action to distance themselves from this common criminal and fraudster. The Liberia National Bar Association, an umbrella organization for all professionals practicing law in Liberia expelled Nwabudike Mid June of 2020 on grounds that he presented falsified and fraudulent documents to obtain his membership.

Also, SUP has observed that over the years, Nwabudike has benefited from the privileges given to Liberian at the Louise Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia through fraud, mendacity, deceit and dishonesty. He has also used these scams and scorns to beat his way around public institutions and to buy his way to political opportunity. The story of this crook and scam genius reveals how deeply entrenched corruption has wakened public institutions and has made integrity and honesty in public service bedridden.

SUP believes it is completely paradoxical and cynical to have a criminal and fraudster presiding over a body of trust, confidence and integrity.  SUP categorically detests this cunning attitude and calls for the immediate dismissal and prosecution of Nuwabudkie for fraud, felony, criminal sabotage and other crimes which amount to incarceration and deportation. In view of the above, SUP hereby declares Nuwanbudike a persona non-grata and calls for his immediate dismissal amidst conflicting identity crisis.

SUP wants to assure Mr. Weah and the 54th National Legislature that the party will take unspecified revolutionary actions geared toward protecting the sacredness of the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission if the criminal commissioner in Nwabudike is not expeditiously and immediately dismissed.

Furthermore, SUP refutes the statistics provided in Mr. Weah’s Annual Address that there has been an immense increase in enrollment at the University of Liberia from 8,000 students to 18,000 students as a diabolical lie. Since 2006, under the Administration of Dr. Emmett A. Dennis, the University of Liberia has always enrolled approximately 18,000 students until Mr. Weah’s free tuition policy era coupled with the e-learning ad-hoc semester which saw the decline in enrollment from 18,000 students to 16,000s students due to most students inability to enroll into the confused and disorganized e-learning system, and the drastic reduction in the University’s annual fiscal budgetary allocation and the harsh economic climate created by the Covid-19 pandemic. SUP cautions President Weah to refrain from providing falsehoods to the Liberia people and urge the President to always speak from an informed, empirical, credible and reliable source as the information in his Annual Address was saturated with falsehood, lies and deceit.

In addition, SUP demands all Lawmakers, particularly the newly elected Lawmakers who were elected during the just ended Mid-Term Senatorial Elections as well as all public officials to declare their assets in accordance with Part X (10), Section 10.1 (a), (b) & (c) of the 2014 National Code of Conduct for all public officials and employees of the government of the Republic of Liberia. SUP strongly believes assets declaration plays a cardinal role in the fight against corruption and promotes accountability, integrity, openness and transparency in public service. It also discourages bribery and conflict of interest as well as encourages honesty, discipline and professionalism and aid the citizenry of the country in revealing the true attributes of public officials and those who they have elected to govern them. Any country that respect and put premier on asset declaration attract investors and international partners as accountability and transparency will be vividly seen in the workings and dealings of the national government. It is sad, disheartening and condescending to see public servants and elected officials failing to declare their assets in wanton disregard for the Code of Conduct which undermines the battle against corruption and accumulation of ill-gotten wealth at the detriment of dejected masses of the people.

In conclusion, the Student Unification Party (SUP) hereby reinstates and recalls its Co-Chairman for Party’s Affairs Cde. Seawon S. Laiwayee, Assistant Secretary-General Cde. Henry Davis and Junior Central Committee Representative for Agriculture College Cde. Ernest S. Barkpala all of whom were suspended for time indefinite on the 4th of December 2021 for breach of party’s philosophy, precedent, doctrine and tradition.  Having served their punishments duly in line with the party’s philosophy of discipline, Cde. Seawon S. Laiwayee and others reinstated now have the fullest right to function in their various capacities. Henceforth, we call on all militants, stalwarts, ideologues, veterans, well-wishers and sympathizers of SUP to accord them full respect and support in the discharge of their duties and functions. Moving forward, the party encourages all ideological militants and veterans to continue upholding the doctrine and philosophy of discipline. SUP will not be a bed sharer with anyone/individual who carries with them despicable posture of indiscipline, insolence and sycophancy.

SUP is therefore calling on all militants, veterans, ideologues, cadres and stalwarts to remain discipline, reverent and loyal to the ideology and philosophy of Massescracy.
