Liberia Lone Stars Striker William Jebor Move To Spain

Liberian Lone Stars striker, William Jebor has left his Portuguese based outfit, Rio Ave for Spanish second division club, SD Ponferradina on a season loan.

Jebor, who scored Liberia’s lone goal in Lone Stars 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Sparrow Hawks of Togo this gone June in the 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier, was handed the club’s number seven jersey for the 2015/2016 season.

The Liberian is expected to make his debut for his new club, SD Ponferradina today against Sporting Gijón in a friendly encounter.

Jebor, moved to Spain reports say, in search of greener pastures, hoping that by playing in the Spanish league, he will attract attention from promising clubs in an effort to move to the division one. The “Ironman” was the top scorer of the Egyptian Premier League season (2012–13), playing for El-Geish before the league was cancelled due to civil unrest in the country, occasioned by the Arab Spring. He scored 10 goals in 9 matches while playing for El Geish.

Jerbo will be joining another Liberian Ghanian in the Spanish League, the mesmerizing forward Inaki Williams, who the Lone Stars are keen to bag, ahead of Ghana and Spain.
