With just days to the Afcons tournament in South Africa, the Nigerian football association say it is unable to provide lodging and transportation for is embattled coach Steven Keshi. Keshi will only get an official car and apartment if commercial sponsors come to the aid of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Reports indicate that the Nigerian football trainer has been living in and out of hotels since he was appointed, replacing Sampson Siasia as head of the talented star studded eagles. He was appointed the national coach in November 2011.
“The only way we can afford a car and accommodation for Keshi is through sponsorship as there is no provision for such under the federation’s capital budget. It will be a welcome development if sponsors can bail us with the cash so that we can address once and for all those obligations,” Adamu said.
Adamu said that the only option the federation could explore in order to satisfy Keshi was to appeal for prospective sponsors to cushion the effect by providing the cash.
Shehu Adamu sits on the board of NFF. He also said the Nigerian football house could not provide car and lodging for Keshi, because the federation simply had no money…
The Nigerian football federation is said to be frantically pursuing prospective sponsors to come and bail out the NFF as it look for accommodation and transportation for the big boss.
