LIBERIA: EMMANUEL TULOE HONORED AS ‘INTEGRITY ICON’

By Socrates S. Saywon, Monrovia – Emmanuel Tuloe, a struggling motorcyclist from Nimba County whose life has changed due to his honest behavior has set an integrity record in Liberia.

Center for Transparency and Accountability of Liberia (CENTAL) in collaboration with Accountability Lab Liberia and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, held an honoring program for Emmanuel Tuloe who exhibited a high level of ‘Integrity’ by returning US$50,000 plus L$100,000 that he found.

During the colorful ceremony, saw remarks from various stakeholders, especially the Honoree and organizers of the ceremony – among other things, various speakers thanked Emmanuel, 19, for showing a high degree of integrity and admonished others to emulate his good example.

Emmanuel after receiving the honor as ‘Special Integrity Icon Liberia 2021’ lauded the organizers for the recognition and expressed joy over the level of support so far received from the public, saying, “Although some of his friends frowned at my decision to return the missing money, terming me as a foolish man, I am excited that good gesture is being hailed and rewarded nationally.

Also speaking, CENTAL through its executive director Mr. Anderson Miamen lauded the teen for showing a high level of Integrity.

Mr. Miamen also used the occasion to call on young people and other Liberians to emulate Emmanuel’s excellent example by supporting the fight against corruption and exhibiting integrity in all their actions, dealings, and activities.
