Former Liberia National Police [LNP] police boss, Chris Massaquoi, is under investigation in connection to the death of Journalist Tyron Brown of Super FM. According to reports Jonathan Williams, the suspected murderer of the journalist, told police investigators that he immediately called Mr.  Massaquoi to report his crime, who drove to the scene, where the deceased was killed.

It is still however confusing what role the former police, Inspector General [IG] played in the murder case, but sources closed to the corridor of power at the police headquarters have confided in this writer, that Chris could be hooked for aiding and abetting the death of the late radio and TV journalist.

The alleged journalist killer dumped his body from the crime scene and the police will be interested to knowing why he did that, and what advice the former police chief offered Jonathan, after he Chris was alerted about the crime.“This is an orchestrated murder case and those arrested by the police can’t claim self defense was responsible for killing the young colleague,” said a source familiar with the case, refusing to be quoted, adding, “this murder case is very sensitive.” Secondly, “the Women in question can’t be persons of interest, but also criminal conspirators who helped to erased evidence.”

Concerns are rife in several quarters and on social media, that to kill someone in self defense means that you were under imminent threat, and that investigators needed to take into consideration the equal proportional force scenario.  It is not immediately clear, if the Journalist had a violent history or a criminal record or if the murderer was under imminent threat. Reports say many are clamoring that investigation also be laid at the doors the journalist’s former boss, George Kailando and the deceased family.
