MOVEE’S VP Pick visits United States Meets US Govt officials, Investors, and Liberians in varying States.
Vice Presidential Candidate Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves Jr has arrived in the United States of America as part of his mission to bring about “Meaningful Change” to Liberia through relationship building. During his acceptance speech at the MOVEMENT FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (MOVEE) Headquarters in Monrovia, Liberia, Themed: THE FUTURE IS NOW IT’S TIME FOR MEANINGFUL CHANGE AND NOT MORE OF THE SAME, in late June, Dr. Reeves stated that God has sent a new wave and [Liberians] must ride it to a new destination of hope, patriotism, national service & sacrifice, inclusiveness, and integrity.”
According a MOVEE USA press release, during his acceptance speech, Dr. Reeves encouraged Liberians to look at a fresh destination, “a destination locked in a common destiny that [looks] beyond our social bonds, tribal affiliations, theological jurisdictions, political justifications, and connections.” Upon his arrival in the US, Dr. Reeves, on a strategy call with supporters and Members of MOVEE-USA, said that he is not here on a vacation, rather, he’s here to work and to see that a meaningful change comes to Liberia in October 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections.
While on the strategy call with supporters and Members of MOVEE-USA, Dr. Reeves mentioned that he is here to build connections, meet with Liberians, and seek support for the campaign ahead. During his short stay in the US, Dr. Reeves is expected to meet with Alumni groups, Shiloh Baptist Church (July 23) and other Church ministries, various Liberian associations and support groups, hold a high-power dinner with Key US Government officials, and a-get to know Dr. Reeves and MOVEE’s Vision for Liberia-town hall meeting in Lawrenceville, GA on July 21st 2017.
The release added, that Dr. Reeves will be in the US through July 23, 2017. He plans to hold meetings in the following states: Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
