Liberia Lone Stars’ Coach Named Starting 11 for Djibouti Clash

National team Coach James Salinsa Debbah have name his starting eleven against Djibouti; the match is drawn for tomorrow. Liberia will play Djibouti on Thursday, March 24 away and a return leg expected on Tuesday, March 29 in Monrovia at the famous Antoinette Stadium. The Lone Stars will need to win both encounters to keep themselves in the running for next year African Cups of Nations finals. Coach Debbah previously named 19 foreign-based players in his 25-man squad for the AFCON 2017 Group A qualifier.

Only five local players were included this time. Liberia chances of qualifying for the continental show piece event will get a boost if they win away tomorrow. The return leg is expected five days later in Monrovia.

The West Africans have three points on the table from their previous two games, with leader Togo at six points and Tunisia at three points also, but separated with goal difference, Djibouti is yet to win a match having lost to both Togo and Tunisia.

Liberia has not qualify for the AFCONS since 2002. The team made its debut in 1996 in South Africa with George Weah, James Salinsa Debbah and Joe Nagbe on the team. Francis Doe and William Jerbo will miss this encounter. Recent new entries under Coach Debbah include Dulee Johnson and Theo Lewis Weeks. Star striker Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh has been handed his second start, he failed to impress during his first appearance, but nonetheless has been in good form this reason. The team is expected to play the 4-4-2 formation. Liberia Lone Stars went to Djibouti with a 38 man delegation.
