Monrovia INQUIRER’s, Varney K. Sirleaf bids goodbye to bachelorhood

The Webmaster of the INQUIRER Newspaper, Mr. Varney K. Sirleaf said goodbye to bachelorhood on Saturday, March 28, 2015 by taking the hands of glamorous Miss Hawa Ferkai in wedlock. The ceremony took place over the weekend at the edifice of the New Water In the Desert Assembly Apostolic Church Int’l in Brewerville.

Preaching on the Theme: “Launch Deep” from the text Luke 5 from verses 1 down, the Pastor of the New Water in the Desert, Rev. Dr. Kortu K. Brown, urged the couples to take their love for each other from the shadow waters into deep waters; stating that that’s the only way they can live a happy life together as a family.

Bishop Brown said every successful marriage has to perfectly practise seven things that could make or break a marriage.

The Pentecostal Cleric said they include 1. Communication-which he said is the sharing of information to each other no matter the situation; 2 Financial openness to each other; 3. Sex, 4. Upbringing of Children in the home (Foster or Biological), 5. In-laws from both families, 6. Behavior or Attitude and 7. Religious differences or values.

The bridal party included Mr. Varney K. Sirleaf-Groom, Mrs. Hawa Ferkai-Sirleaf-Bride, Mr. D. Soko Hill-Best Man and Ms. Patience Konneh-Maid of Honor. Others were Mr. Daniel S. Richard, Mr. D. Boima Barclay, Mr. James Doma, Mr. Emmanuel Simpson, Mr. Foday O. Brown and Mr. Francois David all groomsmen and for the bride maids, Ms. Korto K. Brown, Ms. Massa Ferkai, Ms. Amie Taylor, Ms. Teresa Massalley, Ms. Josephine Zangar and Ms. Blessing Massaquoi and the organizers were Mrs. Audrey Passawe-Chief Organizer, Mr. Eric Harvey-Asst. Organizer and Ms. Bernice Smith-Asst. Organizer.

Still, others were Steven E. Sirleaf-Rings Bearer, Varney K. Sirleaf, Jr.-Junior Groom, Ms. Antoinette Yeakpalah-Flower Girl and Ms. Edina R. Stubblefield-Petal.

In his remarks, the newly wedded groom expressed thanks to the Almighty God for taking them through the wilderness and challenges to enable them to see one of the most memorable days of their lives.

He also expressed special thanks and appreciation to Atty Philip N. Wesseh and the entire INQUIRER staff for standing by him to have had his marital dream come true.

Mr. Sirleaf concluded by expressing appreciation to his Church Pastor, Rev. Dr. Kortu K. Brown and his wife, Pastor Mariama Z. Brown and the entire New Water in the Desert family for their enormous contributions in making their wedding a successful and an indelible one.

“We highly appreciate our parents, patrons, sponsors, organizers, the Church and well wishers for the unprecedented support given us during their time of happiness,” he concluded.
