Nigerian rap star Ice Prince has uploaded photos of himself alongside music mogul Jay Z and fans are going wild with anticipation and speculation Nigerian Entertainment website BellaNaija has reported.
This week, Jay Z launched streaming service Tidal with powerhouse celebrities including Madonna, Beyonce, Usher, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and eleven others performers who announced they had become co-owners of Tidal.
The service launched last October, but was recently bought by the Blue Print rapper, offers 25 million music tracks, fewer than the 30 million offered by many rival services.
It is hoping to compete with the likes of Spotify, Deezer and Google Play.
As well as a standard subscription for $9.99 a month, Tidal offers a “high fidelity” option for $19.99, which claims to deliver better sound quality.
Could Ice Prince be one of the young African artistes Jay Z is hoping to sign on to his label or this was just a ‘photo op’? The high flying Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani proves that he is arguably Nigeria’s most marketable rapper. The Chocolate City act posted a picture on Instagram of him with the iconic rapper tagged ‘the greatest rapper alive’Jay Z.
Ice Prince who is currently in the United States posted two pictures of him with the global Hip-Hop icon. “#Roc The story Loading… Ice|Hov” read the caption below the picture of him and Jay Z.
Under the second picture which had Ice Prince, Jay Z, and two other men, the Nigerian star wrote “Alot Learned Today! Bless King Hov cc @iamsirnigel @rogerbeat @tobisannidaniel @obithemanager0 Africa To the World.” Ice Prince also met one of the co-hosts of the popular syndicated radio show called ‘The Breakfast Club’,Charlamagne The God. It is more than likely that he will be on the radio show soon if the caption below the photo is anything to go by. “CharlamagneThagod!!! @cthagod Bless u ma G! Can’t wait.” Being one of the most exportable acts from Africa, we won’t be surprised if Ice Prince lands a deal with a major record label soon.
