Election: Violence Hits Campaign Trail in Ebola-Stricken Liberia

The Editor,

The clash, in PHP, between the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and Robert Sirleaf supporters was violent.

But you ain’t seen nothing yet !!

Wait until the Election Commission announce that Rob whips Weah’s ass in the special senatorial election, all hell will break loose!
(Re “Violence Hits Campaign Trail in Ebola-Stricken Liberia)

With the special senatorial election due in 3 weeks, Monrovians are bracing for the worst and hoping for the best!

But those of us who are hoping for the best for our country, hope that the police and the President, who are under oath to protect innocent citizens and private property do NOT respond squeamishly to these acts of violence.

This is no time to coddle CDC criminals or appease hoodlums in PHP ! A squeamish response by law enforcement would signal that the hoodlums can continue to show contempt for the rule of law and trample on the rights of innocent citizens.. My mother used to say “If ears don’t hear, backside must feel.”

We all remember how CDC goons threatened to make “Monrovia bitter and un-governable”, if its standard bearer, George Weah didn’t win the presidency in 2006!

We also remember how these same goons vandalized private properties, injured police officers, and hurled stones at 3 year-old school children (J.J. Robert School) during their so called “peace” march on March 25, 2011.

But hey,

haven’t you seen enough lawlessness from these CDC goons yet, especially during election times? How many times must we turn the other cheek?

Look,

If we keep allowing these CDC partisans to break the law without any consequences, it would embolden them to push our country to the brink of anarchy!
